It is also not the solution to keeping weight off and effectively loosing the excess pounds.  A colon cleanse can give you the jumpstart you need to change your lifestyle. If you choose to cleanse your colon, yet continue to overeat, or consume foods that are bad for your body, you will not lose weight in the long run.  It can actually result in increased weight gain and put you back in the same situation you were in before you took a colon cleanse.

All colon cleansing products are not created equal. Some products actually advertise the benefit of helping you lose weight, others do not. Initially, both choices may result in shedding a few pounds quickly. The colon can store between four and eight pounds of waste. Thus, if the colon is cleansed, it will shed the stored waste and register on the scale.  It can also create visible difference.  However, as soon as you start consuming food again, your colon will begin the storage process again.

Colon Cleansing is generally used as a detoxifier and initial boost to the dieting process. By ridding the body of excess waste, the digestive system is relieved of toxins and impurities that can cause you to feel bloated and run down. Some people actually swear by the healthy ideals of regular colon cleansing and other forms of detoxifying the body.

As always consult your personal physician before beginning any new diet or over-the-counter health care product. Rule out any potential health risks for you.  If you choose to purchase a colon cleansing product, you want to make sure you are getting what you are paid for, know all the health benefits, and if there are any health risks involved.
