If A Man With No Legs Or Arms Can Swim, Surf, and Play Football, Why Can’t You Lose Weight?

If He Can Do This, What's Your Deal?

If He Can Do This, What's Your Deal?

He claims that his lack of limbs is something of a benefit in the water because it means he has more flotation and can use his foot as a “propeller”.

And during a trip to Hawaii in 2008, he learnt to surf with help from professional surfer Bethany Hamilton, who had her arm bitten off by a shark when she was 12.

His ability to pull off 360 degree spins on his board got him on the front cover of Surfer magazine.

Mr Vujicic also enjoys the occasional round of golf, having mastered striking the ball using a club nestled under his chin.

His disability came at birth without any medical explanation – a rare condition called Phocomelia.

However, he has learnt to use his foot and a wheelchair to overcome every hurdle life has thrown at him.

“I call it my chicken drumstick,” joked Nick, who was born in Melbourne, Australia, but now lives in Los Angeles, USA.

“I’d be lost without it. When I get in the water I float because 80 per cent of my body is lungs and my drumstick acts as a propeller.”

From a young age his parents helped him become independent, teaching him to swim at the age of 18 months and creating gadgets to allow him to write and type.

Mr Vujicic added: “My dad put me in the water at 18 months and gave the courage to learn how to swim.

“I also got really into football and skateboarding. I totally love the English Premier League.”

His parents also insisted that he attend a mainstream school in Australia, where he was teased and bullied.

“It was the best decision they could have made for me,” Mr Vujicic added, who later achieved a degree in Financial Planning and Real Estate.

“It was very hard but it gave me independence.”

Mr Vujicic is now a motivational speaker and has travelled to over 24 countries speaking to groups of up to 110,000 people.

In 1990 he won the Australian Young Citizen of the Year award for his bravery and perseverance.

Describing his surf tuition with Miss Hamilton, he said: “She was amazing. I was terrified at first, but once I got up there it felt absolutely fantastic and I caught some waves pretty well.”

“I have a very low centre of gravity so I’ve got pretty good balance.”

Water – You Need It To Lose Weight

glass_of_water

So, you’ve decided to commit to a lifestyle change and hopefully decided to take the HealZoo Journey. You’re eating healthy, and working out. Do you remember what you ate yesterday? Maybe you ate plenty of fruits and veggies. Do you remember what you drank? It should have been plenty of water, one of the most important components of your body’s health.

Water is a vital nutrient that many Americans neglect to drink the amount needed by your body especially when you are working out. If you short yourself on water, you may notice results in your workout program. These may not be the results you were looking for. Dehydration can impair your exercise performance and affect your weight loss goals. Because your body needs water for proper normal everyday function, if you do not get the needed amounts of water, you may feel tired, have trouble concentration, and the worse, eat more than usual because your body often misinterprets thirst as hunger.

Water is just as important as any vitamin or mineral. It is just not any ordinary beverage or something to drink just because there is nothing else to drink. It helps with both health reasons as well as physical performance during workouts. Our bodies are made up of about 60 % water and it is needed to maintain that water for our cells and organs to function properly. Our blood is primarily water as well as the inside of our cells. Our bodies use water to convert food into energy, remove waste, and carry nutrients through out our body. Drinking plenty of water will help you lose weight faster. It also helps regulate our body’s temperature even when we are sweating when working out. Sweating during exercise depletes your body’s water supply and can lead to dehydration if fluids aren’t replaced. When you are dehydrated, your body can’t operate and function properly.

Unfortunately, many of us do not realize when we are dehydrated. It is extremely important to drink water when you feel thirsty not soft drinks that also happen to include more ingredients that can actually cause dehydration. They also contain more empty calories than water. Many studies suggest that thirstiness is actually a symptom of dehydration. Other symptoms include lightheadedness, dizziness, headaches, and difficulty concentrating and focusing.

Many people don’t know exactly how much water they should drink. The average person loses about 2.5 quarts of water daily through ordinary activity. Exercise causes you to lose an additional 1.5 quarts per hour workout. This fluid must be replaced to maintain proper hydration. You have probably heard all of your life that the daily recommended amount of water needed is eight 8oz glasses of water daily. This is not necessarily true. But factually, you need more water especially on The Heal Zoo Journey. The American College of Sports Medicine recommends that you should drink 14 to 22 ounces of fluid two to three hours before exercise, 6 to 12 ounces of fluid every 15 to 20 minutes during exercise, and 16 to 24 ounces of fluid for every pound of body weight lost during exercise.

Water is always the best choice to satisfy your thirst and fulfill your hydration needs. However, Beverages such as tea, juice, and even soda all contribute to your daily total as do foods such as fruit, veggies, soup that are naturally high in water content. Please note that other beverages have higher sugar content and add empty calories. Soda is not recommended on your HealZoo Journey. Because beverages that contain caffeine or alcohol can are naturally dehydrating be sure to drink plenty of water to offset your consumption. Increase your intake by drinking a big glass of water first thing in the morning; keeping a bottle of water on your desk at work; drinking a glass at mid-morning and mid-afternoon; and being sure to drink before, during and after exercise.

During the HealZoo Journey program and afterward, make drinking water one of your main fitness priorities. This will help you maintain optimal hydration. If you are not properly hydrated, you will notice a lack of improvement in the way you look and your weight loss goals. Start drinking more water today.

How can a Colon Cleanse Help Me Reach My Weight Loss Goals?

Cleanse Your Colon

Maybe you need to lose just a few pounds to fit back into your favorite jeans, maybe you have encountered the never ending weight gain results of poor choices and bad eating or just maybe you need a jumpstart on your weight loss regimen.  Either way, you are looking to lose weight and shed pounds.  A colon cleanse is a recently popular method to quickly lose a few extra pounds.

A simple colon cleanses is definitely not the answer to years of overeating junk food and poor exercise choices. It is also not the solution to keeping weight off and effectively loosing the excess pounds.  A colon cleanse can give you the jumpstart you need to change your lifestyle. If you choose to cleanse your colon, yet continue to overeat, or consume foods that are bad for your body, you will not lose weight in the long run.  It can actually result in increased weight gain and put you back in the same situation you were in before you took a colon cleanse.

All colon cleansing products are not created equal. Some products actually advertise the benefit of helping you lose weight, others do not. Initially, both choices may result in shedding a few pounds quickly. The colon can store between four and eight pounds of waste. Thus, if the colon is cleansed, it will shed the stored waste and register on the scale.  It can also create visible difference.  However, as soon as you start consuming food again, your colon will begin the storage process again.

Colon Cleansing is generally used as a detoxifier and initial boost to the dieting process. By ridding the body of excess waste, the digestive system is relieved of toxins and impurities that can cause you to feel bloated and run down. Some people actually swear by the healthy ideals of regular colon cleansing and other forms of detoxifying the body.

As always consult your personal physician before beginning any new diet or over-the-counter health care product. Rule out any potential health risks for you.  If you choose to purchase a colon cleansing product, you want to make sure you are getting what you are paid for, know all the health benefits, and if there are any health risks involved. Just because you can purchase a health item over the counter, it does not necessarily mean that it is good for your particular health situation.  A colon cleansing product with all natural ingredients is always the best choice.

Please visit the HealZoo Store for the  all natural colon cleansing products that we have available.
